So like i said, it take 5years to study nursing in Nigeria. The 5years study will be spent in a Nigerian university where students will be taught many courses. In Nigerian university, 1year is divided into 2 semesters. Thus, to graduate as a nursing student in Nigeria, one must have passed 10 semesters (That is for 5years).
Registered Nursing is also known as Diploma Nursing. In Nigeria and other countries, it’s usually a 3-year course. In Nigeria, it’s the colleges or schools of Nursing that training prospective candidates to become Registered Nurses after 3 years of studies.
After a three-year in-class and in-clinic studies, candidates are awarded the RNs by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. With this certification, they’re qualified to work under a government or private owned hospital as staff Nurses.

No. Not all Nigerian universities allow for the study of nursing. There are many private and state universities in Nigeria that don’t allow for the study of nursing. In my own opinion, it is pertinent to confirm that nursing is allowed in your desired Nigerian university, before applying for nursing there. No university in Nigeria will give
admission for a course they do not offer.
