This post is intended to announce the official Unilag admission requirements existing version. This is the updated version of the list and in this article I’ll also give you the full details of the courses offered and School fees for each department in the institution.
The University of Lagos is one of the oldest institutes of higher learning in Nigeria and it was established in 1962. Besides the main Campus located in Akoka, UNILAG, as it is fondly called, has two other campuses in Yaba and Surulere. Nevertheless, all three campuses are situated at the Mainland of Lagos.
With twelve faculties, two Centres of Studies and a Distance Learning Institute (DLI), University of Lagos boast of enrolment of over 40,000 students.

Available Programmes/Courses for Undergraduate Admission
As mentioned earlier, there are twelve 12 faculties in UNILAG. Each faculty comprises a number of departments, offering 4, 5 and 6-year courses. While some departments concentration in each area of the courses/programmes starts at 200 level (second year), below is the list of available courses for Undergraduate Admission in UNILAG:
Faculty of Arts
Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Literature-in-English, Mathematics and any other two subjects one of which must be an Arts subject.
Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Music/Literature-in-English and any other two subjects from Arts, Science and Social Sciences.
c) Visual Arts
Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any one of Fine Arts/Visual Arts/Photography/Craft Practice/Dyeing & Bleaching and any other two subjects, one of which must be an Arts subject
English Language, any one of Fine Arts/Literature-in-English/Music, one Arts subject and any Science or Social Science

English Language and any three Arts or Social Sciences subjects. Lagos does not accept Music, Fine Arts, and Principles of Accounting. Lagos accepts either Economics or Commerce but not both.

UNILAG Admission Requirements and Students Portal
The University of Lagos admit prospective candidates for undergraduate programmes with requirements which includes very good passes in three JUPEB/A’ Level subjects (for Direct entry); Five O/Level credit passes (for UTME). However, these requirements depend on the department or programme you have chosen to study at the university.
For instance, to study in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science:
Direct Entry Requirement – Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board, JUPEB/’A’ level passes in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology; B.Sc degree first Class/Second class upper in medically related programmes.
UTME Requirements – Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

The student portal is available for both returning and new students; Postgraduates, as well as the staff of the University of Lagos.
Undergraduates can log in with their Matric No/Application No and Password to check/register semester courses and also check their results.
NOTE: The minimum age of candidates eligible for admission to UNILAG is sixteen (16) years by 31st October of the admission year.
JAMB Cut-off Mark
As for JAMB cut-off mark, the school maintains a minimum score of 200. But those who score below the required mark for the programme/course they choose may change to others courses advertised by the University for Change of Course, so long as they meet the requirements.
Furthermore, as a prospective candidate of UNILAG, you are expected to score not less than 40% in the post-UTME test to gain the admission.
The University of Lagos tuition fee for new students ranges from Acceptance fee of N20,000 to the Tertiary Institutions Social Health Insurance Programme (TISHIP) fee of N5,000.
