- Candidates must have a minimum of five(5) credit passes in relevant subjects which must include English Language and mathematics at GCE O’Level, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents at not more than 2 sittings.
- Candidates with Teachers Grade II (TC II) with minimal passes at credit or merit levels in conjunction with credit passes in relevant subjects at GCE, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents may be considered. No subject will be counted at both TC II or GCE O/Level, WASCE, SSCE, NECO else approved equivalents.
- The candidate must make at least 200 pass mark in JAMB to qualify for internal screening by the University of Ibadan.
UI Admission Requirements For Courses.
Below are some courses offered in University of Ibadan,UI and their respective admission requirements for both UTME, DE and Alevel Applicants.
Medicine and Surgery
UTME subject: English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Olevel result: minimum of Five(5) SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
A level requirement: Most cases it is 15 points but sometimes it can be lower than 14 points.
Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering
UTME subject: English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Olevel result: minimum of Five(5) SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one other science subject.
A level requirement: in most cases, it is 13-16 points although they can be changes based on some factors.
Minimum of five(5) ‘O’ level Credits passes at not more than one(1) sitting or six ‘O’ level subjects at 2 sitting including English Language, Lit-in-English any other subjects from Arts, Social Sciences or Science.
UTME subject: English and any three Arts or Social Science subjects.
At least two(2) ‘A’ level passes but O/L credit passes must include Mathematics and Economics.
Minimum of five(5) credit passes to include Mathematics, Economics and any other two Arts or Social Science subjects.
Olevel: Mathematics, Economics and any other two Arts or Social Science subjects.
UTME subject:Mathematics,Economics and any of Government, History, Geography, Lit-in-English, French or CRK/IRK.
Olevel result: at least Five(5) olevel credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other science subject.
UTME subject: Mathematics, Physics and one of the Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics, and Geography.
for psychology candidates, UI accepts:
(i)TWO(2) ‘A’ level passes from Arts, Social Science subjects
(ii)Science subject with a minimum pass in Mathematics
Olevel result: Not less than five(5) ‘O’ level credits in Government/History, English. Language and any other three(3) subjects.
UTME SUBJECTS: Any three subjects.
Applicants who wishes to study psychology should ensure they have good olevel result and UTME scores for them to have a better chance of gaining admission.
