Nevertheless, in this article, I will be disclosing the most populated polytechnics in Nigeria. Note that the polytechnics highlighted here were not just picked at random. An assiduous research and analysis was made before confirming that they are the most populated.

Most Populated polytechnics in Nigeria

Below are the most populated polytechnics in Nigeria:

  1. Auchi Polytechnic.
  2. Federal polytechnic, Nekede.
  3. Federal polytechnic, Ilaro.
  4. Kaduna polytechnics.
  5. Federal polytechnic, Ado-ekiti.
  6. Institute of management and technology.

Auchi Polytechnic:

According to Wikipedia, Auchi Polytechnic has a total of 10,000 student enrollment every year. This inversely means that the polytechnic has about 25,000 students currently studying there. It is quite surprising. However, i still believe it, since it has been confirmed that Auchi Polytechnic is the oldest polytechnic in Nigeria (Established in 1963) The polytechnic was created even before many universities in Nigeria today.

So if you have been asking “Which polytechnic is the most populated in Nigeria?” note that Auchi Polytechnic is the most populated. It is also one of the best polytechnics you can attend in Nigeria.

Federal polytechnic Nekede:

Next on my list of the most populated polytechnics in Nigeria is Federal polytechnic Nekede. The popularity of this polytechnic is so obvious, that no one can oppose the fact that it is one of the most populated in Nigeria. Federal polytechnic Nekede is located at Nekede, Imo state, Nigeria.

As at 1978, Federal polytechnic Nekede was a college of technology. It recently turned in a prestigious polytechnic after it was moved to Nekede in 1993. According to Wikipedia, Federal polytechnic Nekede has about 16,000 students studying in it. The polytechnic also offer National Diploma and Higher National Diploma courses at undergraduate levels.

Federal polytechnic, Ilaro:

Federal polytechnic, Ilaro was created in 1979 (Just one year after the Federal polytechnic Nekede was launched). The polytechnic is indeed on of the most populated in Nigeria now. It is located at Ogun state, Nigeria.

Following my research, one of the reasons why this polytechnic is one of the most populated in Nigeria, is because of the numerous faculties and courses it allows. Federal polytechnic, Ilaro even have school of part-time studies. No doubt, it is one of the most populated polytechnics in Nigeria 2019.

Kaduna polytechnic:

Kaduna polytechnic is also one of the most populated polytechnics in Nigeria. It is a federal polytechnic created in 1956 at Kaduna state, Nigeria. Apparently, Kaduna polytechnics is one of the oldest polytechnics in Nigeria. It was formerly referred to as “Kaduna Technical Institute”. This was later changed as the polytechnic continued to developed.

Kaduna polytechnic offers National Diploma and Higher National Diploma courses at the undergraduate level. It has an estimated population of 10,000 students. If you have been searching for the most populated polytechnics in Nigeria, Kaduna polytechnic is one of them.

Federal polytechnic, Ado-ekiti:

This list wouldn’t have been complete without this polytechnic. Federal polytechnic, Ado-ekiti is one of the oldest and most populated polytechnics in Nigeria now. The polytechnic is located at along Ado/Ikare road, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. After its establishment in 1977, the polytechnic started with just 350 students. Today, this polytechnic is one of hot polytechnics in Nigeria.

Federal polytechnic, Ado-ekiti currently has about 11,000 students. Trust me; they are one of the most populated polytechnics in Nigeria today.

Institute of management and technology:

Last on my list of the most populated polytechnics in Nigeria is the institute of management and technology, Enugu (Also called IMT). IMT has been the best polytechnic in the Eastern region of Nigeria for many years now. The polytechnic is always the first choice of every student in the Eastern region of Nigeria who want to attend a polytechnic.

It was established around 1970. IMT currently has a total of about 14,000 students. The institution was created with the sole purpose of enhancing technology in Nigeria. Indeed, IMT is one of the best polytechnics in Nigeria.
