Documents Required For UI Clearance: Full List

One of the questions students often ask after gaining admission into the University of Ibadan (UI) is, “What are the documents required for clearance in UI?”. Well, that question is a very important question because, clearance is one of the important things you should do after you have been offered provisional admission into the university.

For that reason, i have decided to make my answer open. Today, i will disclose the list of all the documents needed for UI clearance in 2018/2019. I enjoin you to continue reading, as i tide you over. Meanwhile, it is important to note that you cannot do UI clearance without paying your acceptance fee first. This was stated publicly by the university management. Now, here are the documents required for UI clearance.

LIST OF DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR UI CLEARANCE

Below are the documents you need for UI departmental clearance:

  • Original JAMB Admission Letter.
  • Original University of Ibadan notification of Admission slip.
  • Admission Acceptance Form.
  • Original UTME result slip.
  • Original O’level results.
  • Original Birth Certificate or Sworn Declaration of Age.
  • Two letters of reference.
  • Four Passport photographs.
  • Bank teller of Acceptance fee payment.
  • File with tags.
  • Medical form.
  • Undertaking form.
  • Attestation form.
  • Admission Acceptance form.
  • JAMB form 02 and 03.

Original JAMB Admission Letter:

Your JAMB Admission Letter is perquisites to do your clearance in UI. It is the document that will display in your screen after accepting your JAMB admission through CAPS. According to the university management, you are expected to come with five copies of this document. One will be the original, and the rest of them will be photocopies. If you don’t have your own copy of this document, simply go to JAMB CAPS and print it out.

Original University of Ibadan notification of Admission slip:

Your University of Ibadan notification of Admission slip is also very essential for UI clearance. This document can be gotten from your UI online portal. If you have not printed yours, quickly go to any cyber cafe near you, and tell them that you want to print your Original University of Ibadan notification of Admission slip. It will be done for you immediately.

Admission Acceptance Form:

To print this out, you can equally go to any cyber cafe you know. Alternatively, you can easily print it yourself by using the link below:

Just login and print out the page that is displayed on your screen.

Original UTME result slip:

When coming for UI clearance, you are also expected to come with your Original UTME result slip. This is the slip that contains the result of your performance in UI post UTME examination. If you have not printed your, simply go to UI student portal and do that. Meanwhile, note that you must come with five copies of this document. One of which is the original, and photocopies of others.

Original O’level results:

Your Original O’level results are essential. Here, you can choose to bring your WAEC, NECO, GCE or Cambridge results. If you intend to combine your O’level results (that is, two sitting), i enjoin you to quickly read my article about combining two results here. That will help you a lot.

Original Birth Certificate or Sworn Declaration of Age:

Next is your Original Birth Certificate or Sworn Declaration of Age. This is also very essential for UI clearance. According to the management of the University of Ibadan (UI), anything document other than the two documents above, will not be allowed. If your certificate is issued by a private or religious body, it will not also be accepted by UI.

Two letters of reference:

You must also provide two letters of reference from two different reputable persons in your community. These letters must be signed by the writers. Note that a student or religious leader is not allowed to write this letter for you. I recommend you go to a clergyman or a government worker.

Documents required for ui clearance

Four Passport photographs:

Another prerequisite document you need for clearance in UI is some Passport photographs (four precisely). These four Passport photographs must be recent ones (Not more than six months). The specified size is 5.2cm x 5.2cm. Meanwhile, you must remember to write your full name at the back of all the four Passport photographs. This is also very important.

Bank teller of Acceptance fee payment:

Another document required for UI clearance in 2018/2019, is the bank teller of your Acceptance fee payment. This is the teller you were given in the bank after paying you acceptance fee of N20,000 (Twenty thousand Naira). Remember to make four photocopies of this document (excluding the original).

If you have lost your teller, i enjoin you to quickly go to the bank where you paid the money and demand for it. They will definitely give it back to you. However, you will need to pay some money first; to collect it.

File with tags:

You apparently need a file with tags that will be used to arrange all your documents. Though, i won’t advice you to buy them now. When you get to the venue for the clearance you will surely see a place to buy the exert one you are supposed to buy. So you can skip this for now, if you are not yet in school.

These are the first set of documents required for UI clearance exercise. Note that you are expected to have 4 (Four) photocopies of document No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9. Bring them along with you when coming for UI clearances. Now lets move to the next set of documents required for UI clearance. All the documents below should be gotten from your UI profile/portal.

Medical form:

This form should be filled by you. It is to enquire about you medical fitness and health as a student. You can download it from UI’s online portal.

Undertaking form:

This Undertaking form should also be filled by you. It is to certify that you will abide by every rules and regulations of the University of Ibadan (UI). You can get it from UI’s online portal.

Attestation form:

It is compulsory to also fill the downloaded attestation form. This form is basically to corroborate you good behavior and character before you will be fully allowed to study in the University of Ibadan (UI).

Admission Acceptance form:

Next is your admission acceptance form. You can simply download this form from the university’s website, and fill it by yourself.

JAMB form 02 and 03:

You can also download this form online. Just go to your profile and download it yourself. This document is very important for UI clearance.

Important notice:
UI do not allow parents and guidance into the venue for clearance. I advice you to go alone, in other to avoid any embarrassment. After all, you are now a partially independent student. Yes! You are.

Remember to fill the required forms and upload them to the University of Ibadan (UI) before the specified date for clearance.
