WAEC is only more valuable than NECO in Nigeria because it is wholesomely accepted by foreign nations. Now, let me bluntly give an answer to your question.

The answer is yes. It is possible to gain admission with NECO result. Currently, NECO results are wholesomely accepted by both institutions in Nigeria and in abroad. In other words, there is probably no university, polytechnic or college of education in Nigeria that don’t accept NECO result.

Even some foreign universities around the world now accept NECO result. Though, i am not sure whether every foreign institutions accept NECO result. But i can boldly assert that many foreign universities accept NECO result. So if you have been worried because you only have your NECO result for admission, don’t panic. NECO result is very prestigious now. You don’t even need to combine it with WAEC result to gain admission. It is accepted independently.
